Welcome

The administrators of a volunteer rescue organization do most of their work on their home computers when they get a spare hour or two in the evening, this is fine but when an organization has 5+ individuals doing this using different software products it is a problem making sure the documents, address list, contact details etc are current on all machines and are readable on all machines.

Geographical area

The mountains and canyons of the North Shore present a tremendous variety of outdoor recreation opportunities to Lower Mainland residents and visitors. These same attractions become hazards to the unwary and to North Shore Rescue Team members when called to assist those in trouble.

The area served by North Shore Rescue covers the majority of mountainous terrain that can be seen from downtown Vancouver. From West to East this includes the three ski areas of Cypress, Grouse, and Seymour as well as the numerous peaks in between and behind. On top of the backcountry areas, we often assist the RCMP in urban searches in North Vancouver, West Vancouver, and sometimes Vancouver (Stanley Park and UBC).
